AIIMS Delhi Begins Second Dose of COVAXIN Trial for 2-6 Year Old Child

The National Capital’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is set to begin the second dose clinical trial of Bharat Biotech’s COVAXIN on children aged 2-6 years by the following week, sources said. The second dose of COVID-19 antibodies has effectively been regulated to kids aged 6 to 12 years at Delhi AIIMS, one of the primary places for testing the vaccine for kids under 18 years old.

Enrollment for clinical trials of Covaxin in the age gathering of 12 to 18 years has now shut. They have been given the first dose of vaccine. Following long term olds, Delhi AIIMS will lead tests for the 2-6 years age group. These trails are being led at 525 centres. Patna AIIMS, Mysore Medical College and Research Institute in Karnataka have also been chosen to lead clinical trials on children.

Second dose of COVAXIN trial for 2-6 year old child

Patna AIIMS Director Prabhat Kumar Singh said that we have begun enrollment for kids in the age group of 6-12 years. Recruitments for clinical trials on kids in the age groups of 12-18 years is currently finished.

Covaxin is being utilized on adults in India’s continuous COVID-19 vaccination campaign since January 16 this year. The public authority warned last week that COVID-19 has not yet shown seriousness in children. Changes in the behaviour or epidemiological dynamics of infection may increase its impact among them, and the situations are being dealt with promptly to manage.
