Both had sought legal separation(divorce) in November 2020. The couple had petitioned for legal separation by common assent following two years of marriage.
The separation of IAS Tina Dabi and IAS Athar Amir has been endorsed. In 2015, both had cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) assessment. Tina Dabi was first and Athar came next. On Tuesday, both were available when the family court administered the separation. Both have separated with mutual consent.

Tina Dabi, the topper in the 2015 UPSC assessment, and Athar Aamir, who completed second, fell in love at first sight.
