Kolkata Knight Riders vs Mumbai Indians: KKR Beat MI by 7 wickets on Thursday

KKRvsMI, IPL 2021: The 50th from Rahul Tripathi and Venkatesh Iyer assisted Kolkata knight Riders to beat Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.

Chasing 156, KKR invested strong batting energy with Tripathi (74 not out off 42 balls) and Iyer (53 off 30 balls) as they finished the innings in just 15.1 overs. For Mumbai, Jasprit Bumrah took every one of the 3 wickets and conceded 43 runs in his four overs.

Mumbai Indians (MI) scored 155 and lost 6 wickets. Reigning champ Rohit Sharma scored 33 runs and Quinton de Kock scored 55 runs to give Mumbai Indians an incredible beginning. Yet, after his excusal, the KKR bowlers added only 75 runs in the last 10 overs with the Mumbai Indians batsmen.

Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya failed to give a major finish to MI’s innings as KKR confined Mumbai Indians to 155 runs and they lose 6 wickets. A determined 7 wicket win against Mumbai Indians moved Kolkata Knight Riders to the 4th spot in the points table. KKR have 4 successes and 5 losses in 9 matches up until now. His net run rate is +0.363 and he is in front of Rajasthan Royals (fifth) and Mumbai Indians (sixth) with 8 points each.
